Modern Slavery Statement

Hawthorn & Kent Ltd is committed to carrying out procurement of goods and services in an environmentally. Socially, ethically and economically responsible manner and to entering into agreements and contracts with suppliers that share and adhere to this ethos and commitment. 

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. 


The Company has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains. 

We are also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains, consistent with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. 

We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners, and we are committed to continually improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking. 

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 2025.


ORGANISAITONAL STRUCTURE

Hawthorn & Kent Ltd is based in Kent in South-East England, and supplies equipment to venues around the United Kingdom. The Company currently employees <5 members of staff.


OUR SUPPLY CHAINS

Our main supply chains consists of professional services, photography equipment and services, photography product consumables. As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains we have adopted internal & external supplier audits and reviews.

These aim to identify and action and potential risks in our business and supply chains, monitor any areas of potential risk and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our business and supply chains.

Compliance

The Company has evaluated the nature and extent of its exposure to the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking by evaluating the risks of each new supplier & regularly reviewing all aspects of the supply chain.

The Company does not consider itself to operate in a high-risk environment due to the fact that the majority of our supply chain is UK-based and sits in typically low-risk industries such as software services and photography equipment and products. 

We do not tolerate slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains. The Company will continue to review its supply base and procurement processes to assess what steps need to be taken to prevent, monitor and mitigate risks.

Effectiveness

The effectiveness of this policy is to ensure a Zero Tolerance for all suppliers. This will be tracked throughout the next financial year.
